Snikket is a family-friendly chat app, which supports one-to-one messaging, voice and video calls, group chats and many other features.

Snikket requires no phone number or SIM card. The Snikket apps work on any Android or iOS device with an internet connection. Repurpose that old tablet as a family communication device!

Snikket also allows you to restrict certain accounts (such as kids’ accounts) for safety, to ensure they can only communicate with the people you invite - no strangers or unexpected contacts. Just invite family and friends you trust to your family’s Snikket instance.

No ads, no tracking, no surprises

Snikket has no ads, and never will. We are a not-for-profit organization, and we believe family conversations should be just that, free from interruptions, distractions or tracking.

Other messengers may be free, but they have to make their money somehow - often through directly including ads or sharing information about you with their advertising partners.

Snikket is different. We provide a simple and transparent paid service. It costs $6/month to create a Snikket instance for a group of up to 10 users (other currencies and regions may vary) and you get two months free if you pay annually. This income allows us to maintain the service and develop our apps, without needing to monetize your attention or your data.

  1. Sign up and create a Snikket instance for your family to use
  2. Add people to your Snikket instance by sending them an invitation link
  3. Start chatting!

Everyone who joins your Snikket instance will automatically see everyone else who joins within the app. You can further control who sees who by grouping people into Circles.
